Are you planning to rip many thin strips on your table saw?

It might be tempting to set your fence and start ripping but there's a problem. The thin strips can become trapped between the blade and the fence and kick-back.

The way to avoid this is to rip the strip from the outside of the board. This may require you to adjust your fence for each strip but it's a lot safer.
